Love, Compromise, and Turning Off the Lights!

I love my wife! I know it, I hope and believe she knows it, and I talk about it in public so you know it. When she retired 5 years ago, she was working 60+ hours per week. She worked for one company out of high school, started at the bottom, and over the next 35 years she ran the company. Running a business has its drawbacks and it was taking its toll on her, so it was time to start a new chapter in her life. By the way, I met her for the first time when I sold her boss Telecommunication Consulting Services, he was easy to deal with and she was not. But we found a middle ground both professionally and personally and both her company and the love of my life are still with me today. When she retired we had a discussion about what it was going to be like spending so much time together. We brought up 3 boys who became men, worked our tails off (we both never had a tails if you were wondering), and knew her retirement could make us become closer or it could ruin us. Long story short, it has been 5 years since she retired and thankfully we are closer. Being closer has meant compromise as we are both strong willed people, but our best trait is our kindness toward each other. I will give you a long winded example: At bedtime, I like it dark and quiet at bedtime, she likes the TV on with a bit of noise. I like shades down in the house so no one can look in, she likes the shades up to get as much light as possible into the house. I shut things off along the day, she would turn things on. We both knew that we were not going to change each other, and we now have made it a game. No points are given and there is no real winner, but until we are both asleep she continues to turn things on and I continue to turn things off. And neither one of us says a word about it, we just accept each other. Not perfect, what really is, right? Let me know how it works in your home in the comments below!

Next subject; my health update. I am improving. I can take walks, ride my bike 7 miles very slowly, and even starting lifting light weights. I do not believe it was solely because of the softwave tissue regeneration technology therapy, I believe I had inflammation in my body affecting my muscles and tissues and it will just take time. NO MORE COUCH TIME FOR ME! Quick funny story…. Short one. I take a HOT bath every night. Good for circulation. I had not taken a bath in 30+ years. It took me way too much time to figure out how to get in and how to get out. There is no room for me to brace my elbows to get out and I have to drop myself into the tub to get in. If I don’t take my time getting in and out, I will break something. Lastly, and yes I ask this every time I write to you.

PLEASE CONSIDER A SMALL DONATION TO PBNSG. WE NEED IT AND WE NEED YOU.
